The Museum Development Network (MDN) annual conference is a key opportunity for Museum Development practitioners to network, share learning and develop collaborative approaches.

The 2016 conference was organised by colleagues from Museum Development North West, the North East Museum Development Programme and the South East Museum Development Programme and supported by the Association of Independent Museums and Arts Council England.

2016’s programme presented a range of speakers and case studies showcasing Museum Development practice across the UK that has enhanced museums’ capability and capacity to succeed in challenging times.

With this year’s conference taking place in Scotland the event offered the chance to make new connections between Scottish, Welsh, Northern Irish and English colleagues. Themes of this year’s event included partnership development, network brokering and fundraising and sought to map potential strategic collaborations between regional colleagues.

Notes and presentations from the event will be available to MDN members in the members area shortly.
